What to Bring to CMV

• Casual clothes and comfortable shoes
• Personal items such as shampoo, soap, hairdryer, toothbrush, towels
• Pen and pencil
• Umbrella (in case of rain)
• Sheets or sleeping bag with a pillow
• Anything else you will need to sleepover
• Parking pass if you plan to leave your car on campus overnight
• Connections Miniversity postcard reminder (it should come in the mail)
• Spending money to buy NJIT paraphernalia
• Health services packet (call 973-596-3621)
• One form of identification with a photo (driver’s license, High school ID)

What NOT to Bring to CMV

• Anything expensive such as jewelry, iPods, laptops, etc. that may get lost. CMV and NJIT are not responsible for any lost or stolen items. During your stay at CMV you will not need these devices. Cell Phones are allowed but we ask they be used sparingly, during designated times, and be put on silent or vibrate during the program.
• Alcohol, drugs, or any illegal substances. NJIT has a very strict Drug and Alcohol Policy. If found with said substances, NJIT Public Safety will be notified and you will be asked to leave the program. These circumstances are dealt on a case by case basis.

UCID Setup

An NJIT University Computing ID (UCID)  and password can be used to access various systems depending on your role at NJIT. Your UCID will enable you to access VPN for off-campus access, NJIT Mailhost and Webmail, NJIT Highlander AFS (including Solaris UNIX, distributed file system, and Oak e-mail), NJIT Campus directory listings, Highlander Pipeline, the NJIT Web for Students Portal, and NJIT's Microsoft "Academic" domain, including access to file shares and PC lab logon. Check-in and Other Helpful Hints

Connections Miniversity will begin on the first day with check-in at 9:00 am and will end on the following day at approximately 4:30 pm.  When you arrive on campus please park in the Parking Deck (campus map) with the parking pass that was mailed to you previously visible in the dashboard and follow signs to Cypress Hall. Please have with you the reminder postcard that you will receive a few days prior to the date you are to arrive, placement test results, and a picture ID.  In order to obtain your fall semester class schedule it is necessary that you attend the full overnight program.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Connections Miniversity office at (973) 596-5438.  An answering machine is always on, so you can leave a message and someone will promptly get back to you.
