If you've submitted your FAFSA, you're just about done. When you submit the free application for federal student aid using NJIT's code (002621), NJIT automatically considers you for grants and scholarships, and work-study—as well as several types of federal education loans. So what's left? You might want to apply for a private loan or start checking out campus jobs. And don't forget to keep an eye on the deadlines for supporting documentation. To check the status of your financial aid application or to review your awards, go on Highlander Pipeline.
If you have not fulfilled your requirements for financial aid, please do so immediately to ensure that your financial aid disburses at the start of the semester. If you have not yet applied for financial aid, go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov to file your application. If this is the first time you are applying for financial aid, you will have to apply for an US Department of Higher Education PIN. To do so, go to www.pin.ed.gov. If you are a dependent student for financial aid eligibility purposes, your parent(s) will have to apply for a PIN as well.
International Students
Although you aren't eligible for federal aid, there are plenty of other opportunities for financial assistance. Check out the scholarships for international students—and don't forget about campus employment. You'll need to wait until you get to campus to apply for any jobs, but it's never too soon to start checking things out.
For more information about Financial Aid please visit, http://www.njit.edu/financialaid or contact them at 973-596-3479.
