The Louis Berger International Scholar Award
About the Award:

The Louis Berger International Scholar Award is valued at a yearly maximum of $15,000 to cover tuition and fees and a partial stipend for a Master's or Doctoral student for the Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 semesters. Additional support may be available as a supplemental stipend for doctoral study. Only students with a prior master's degree will be considered for doctoral awards.

Purpose of the Award:

The award is intended for students who study in fields consistent with the worldwide activities of the Louis Berger Group. These fields cover most majors offered by New Jersey Institute of Technology but students in Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Transportation, and Management will have preference. The award winner must be willing to accept an internship with the Berger Group and to return to the student's home country upon completion of studies.

The Application:

Applicants must make a complete application for admission to Graduate Studies at NJIT by May 15, 2006 that includes all needed test scores and transcripts. Applications for admission to NJIT may be made directly through. Applicants for the scholarship must provide a maximum two page letter, separate from the Admissions Application, that describes the applicant's goals in serving as an intern with the Louis Berger Group and definitive plans for returning to the home country after degree completion. Applications for the scholarship lacking this information will not be considered.
