Students returning to classes in fall 2007 may be surprised to see two newly renovated dining areas, new food options as well as a new convenience store. And students with university meal plans should consider coming to the cafeteria with voracious appetites.
That’s because every day, from 7 am to 9 pm, students who have the A-E meal plans will have unlimited and ample access to the following dinning hall stations:
For breakfast, they’ve have access to Bread and Breakfast, Waffle and Crepes and the Omelet du Jour. And for lunch and dinner, they can visit the Comfort Food Entrees, the Carvery, Sushi Central, the Salad Bar, the Brick Oven Pizza counter, Tex Mex, Panini, Wok It Up, Rotisserie Chicken, Deli Delectable’s, Organic and Steamed Vegetables, Grill and the Halal Grill. For dessert, they have the International Fruit Market and the Hershey’s Ice Cream and Sweet Dreams Dessert Bar.
Some of the food stations are now self serve. Those areas include the waffles and crepes, the steamed veggies, the Panini, the deli and the omelet station.
All stations will open for breakfast at 7 am. Lunch is served from 11 am to 2:30 pm, and dinner from 4:45 pm to 9:00 pm.
In addition to the continuous dining meal plans, students may also opt for a block plan, which offers 80 entries a semester, or a 5-entry per week plan. For details and up-to-date hours, visit the Gourmet Dining Services.
You do not have to be a resident student to buy a meal plan. Meal plans are also available to commuter students, faculty and staff.
The Boutique Dinning area includes a doubled-in-size sandwich, a wrap and soup shop; a designer salad and soup shop; Hershey’s ice cream, Halal Grill items; Pizza, and a Taco Bell shop, which is due to open on September 17. Flex dollars may be used in all of these locations.
Dinners may also have all-you-can-eat meals in the dining hall. The cost for the meals varies: breakfast is $4.50; lunch is $7.95 and dinner is $9.95.
A new convenience store, called NJ Express, has opened on the first floor of the campus center. The store sells sandwiches, soups and salads, drinks, fruit and yogurt as well as take-away meals that can be micro-waved. The store opens from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and it accepts flex dollars.
The Highlander Club (aka "The Pub") is located on the third floor of the Campus Center. The club offers specialty sandwiches along with traditional pub style selections. The club also has a pool table, shuffleboard table, performance stage, and bar area.
The Tech Café, open from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm, sells Starbuck’s coffee, tea and smoothies as well as pastries and Panini sandwiches.
The Faculty Dining Room, on the third floor of the campus center, is open every week day for the lunch. The well-lit and carpeted room offers two, pay-one price options for lunch.
The University Club is open 11:45 am to 2:30 pm, and from 4 pm to 7 pm., Monday through Friday in Eberhardt Hall. Professors and staff are invited to become members.
