To comply with the New Jersey law requiring full time students to maintain health insurance, NJIT provides a Student Health Insurance Program.  All eligible Fall full-time undergraduate students with at least 12 credit hours, graduate students with at least 9 credit hours and F1 and J1 international students with 3 credits or more are automatically enrolled under this plan, unless they have elected to waive the coverage and provided proof of other insurance. For Full-time undergraduate students (12 credits or more) and graduate students (with at least 9 credit hours) and F1 and J1 and international students with at least 3 credits who entered NJIT in the spring, coverage will be automatic unless the insurance is waived as stated above. The cost to International students includes repatriation and medical evacuation benefits. Please review brochure for exact dates.

The Student Health Insurance Program is also available for part-time students, both undergraduate and graduate, as well as for dependent children and spouses of students who are enrolled in the plan.  Dependent children and spouses must be enrolled directly with the plan administrator, T.L. Groseclose Associates, Inc.  The period of coverage for the full year is Aug 21st to Aug 20st of the followng year, and the period of coverage for half the year is mid-January of the following year.

Students may waive the added fee for insurance at the beginning of every academic year by certifying they have equivalent insurance coverage.

To waive fee for insurance please complete the online Insurance Waiver Card BY THE DEADLINE DATE. The waiver card will be available online August 21.

If you have completed the insurance waiver form correctly, you will be given a confirmation number. Please keep record of this number for future reference.

FULL TIME DOMESTIC STUDENTS, AS OF THE END OF THE 100% ADD-DROP PERIOD: If you drop below 12 credits (undergraduate) or 9 credits (graduate) during the 100% refund period, the insurance fee is removed and you are not covered under the NJIT policy.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:  Must remain enrolled for a minimum of thirty-one (31) days with at least three (3) credits in order to maintain coverage.

30-DAY OPEN ENROLLMENT PERIOD for fall semester (until early October) and for the spring semester (mid February ):  Only full-time students and international students with 3 credits or more who were not enrolled at NJIT during the fall term, will be billed in the spring.  Eligible students not automatically covered may enroll directly with T.L. Groseclose Associates.
