NJIT Alumni Campus Champions

Managed by Career Development Services and Alumni Relations, the Campus Champions program consists of a network of alumni who assist with the career development and job attainment of our students.  Alumni Campus Champions serve as an invaluable resource for near and recent college graduates seeking to begin their careers. 
For Employers

Campus Champions serve as advocates for NJIT within their organizations, provide mentorship and professional skill development to students, and often directly hire fellow Highlanders into internships, co-ops, or entry-level roles.  The opportunities below outline how you, as an NJIT alum, can begin to get involved as a Campus Champion: 

  • Career Fairs: NJIT Career Fairs are offered throughout the year in-person or virtually through the Handshake platform.  When held in person, NJIT career fairs have regular participation of over 200 employers and 2,500 students seeking intern, co-op, and full-time roles. Work with your Human Resources contacts to register for the Spring 2023 Career Fair to be held on February 14, 2023.
  • Cooperative Education and Internships: As one of the nation’s leading public polytechnic universities, we invite you to join our growing list of employer partners in Handshake and connect with our highly qualified and career-focused candidates for your internship and co-op positions. Nearly 1,700 NJIT students are hired as co-ops or interns each year to work in organizations from large multinational corporations to small start-ups in New Jersey, across the country, and overseas. 
  • On-Campus Interviewing (OCI):  The On-Campus Interviewing (OCI) and Virtual Campus Interviewing (VCI) programs at NJIT provide employers the opportunity to connect with NJIT candidates in a streamlined day of first-round interviews.  Participate to benefit from additional promotion of your opportunities as well as schedule coordination by NJIT Career Services staff. 
  • Highlander Nation:  NJIT’s alumni community and mentoring platform allows you to build a profile to connect with fellow alumni as well as current students who are seeking alumni mentors.  Sign up today to assist students with their job search, resume tips, interview preparation, career choices, and overall professional development. Highlander Nation also features mid-level to experienced job postings and leads from fellow alumni.  
  • Networking Events:  In conjunction with Alumni Relations, Career Development Services regularly hosts Speed Networking events that facilitate connections between students and alumni.  During the 2022 - 2023 academic year, various virtual and in-person events are planned.   • Additional Ways to Get Involved:  Host a company information session or connect with NJIT students further by participating in signature events such as Resume Day and Practice Interviews.  Please view the current schedule of Career Development Services Events here.  
  • Alumni Seeking Career Advice:  Don’t forget!  Alumni have lifelong access to Career Development Services including: Career Advising, Career Fairs, Handshake, and Career Resources like Big Interview and CareerShift.  Connect with CDS for assistance at any point in your career!
