STEMx High School Programs

2026 STEMx High School Program

The STEMx High School Program is designed to provide current 10th and 11th-grade students with opportunities to immerse themselves in a targeted STEM discipline for one week at a time. Each session will be taught in partnership with, if not exclusively by, NJIT faculty who are subject matter experts in their respective fields. Students can participate in one or more weeks and can choose one of two topics each week. The programs will have mathematics, language arts, data literacy, and computer science infused into the curriculum.  

Student Programs

Program Dates 

  • Week 1: Monday, July 6, 2026 - Friday, July 10, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  (Choose Artificial Intelligence OR STEM Entrepreneurship)
  • Week 2: Monday, July 13, 2026 - Friday, July 17, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Choose Materials Engineering OR Sustainable Engineering and the Environment) 
  • Week 3: Monday, July 20, 2026 - Friday, July 24, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Choose Cybersecurity OR Applied Engineering Technology) 
  • Week 4: Monday, July 27, 2026 - Thursday, July 30, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Preparing for College and Career Pathways in STEM - Free and optional session only for students enrolled in all three weeks)

Program Cost: 

  • $70 non-refundable application fee
  • $725 per week (includes lunch and academic materials)

Admission Requirements: 

  • Maintain a B or better grade average
  • Provide a personal statement of interest for selected program(s)

Admission Waves: 

The 2026 STEMx High School Program application will admit students in two separate wave cycles, detailed below:

Early Decision:  Applications received before March 1, 2026 will receive admission decisions on March 6, 2026. Payment is due for early decision applicants by April 10, 2026.

Regular Admission: Applications received between March 2, 2026 and April 10, 2026 will receive admission decisions on April 17, 2026. Payment is due for early decision applicants by April 10, 2026.

Refund Policy: 

Application fees are nonrefundable.

* Tuition is refundable up to 60 days prior to the start of the program. After this date, tuition is non-refundable. A written request for the refund must be received by 11:59pm on Thursday, May 7th, 2026.
