Dana Knox Student Research Showcase

A Glimpse into the Future

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

Campus Center 2nd Floor Gallery,1 PM

Overview

An annual tradition at NJIT, the Provost's Research Showcase each spring allows both undergraduate and graduate students to present their original research to their fellow students, as well as NJIT faculty and NJIT industry partners.

Requirements and Guidelines

Nominations of presenters are due no later than Friday,February 24,2012.

  • We ask that faculty nominate their best student researchers to participate in the event.  Please keep in mind that we are looking for experienced presenters only; the guideline is that the student must have previously presented the material to a professional audience.
  • Nominators and nominees should be aware that display of a poster may be considered a public disclosure of an invention.  Please contact the NJIT Office of Technology Development (Paul Matri, Esq., Manager of Patent Prosecution at matri@njit.edu) to discuss patentability issues.  Public disclosure of an invention may have a negative impact on the ability to obtain patent coverage.

Faculty members need to please provide (to the extent possible) the following information for their nominees:

  • Name
  • Year (e.g., freshman / senior / master’s / doctoral)
  • Discipline
  • Title of work
  • Short description of work (one or two sentences only)
  • Where and to whom the work has been presented
  • Awards received for past presentations (if applicable)
  • Funding source for work (if applicable)

All nominees will be reviewed by a screening committee.

  • Please forward all nominations to Isabel Bracero in the Provost’s Office (bracero@njit.edu).

The goal of the event is to raise the awareness among constituents (prospective employers and funders) and among our students (prospective researchers) of the quality research that takes place at NJIT.
