Various levels of competition are offered in both team and individual/dual activities and opportunities exist for Men’s, Women’s, Co-ed, and Open play. The Intramural Sports program aims to provide a quality recreational sports experience that reflects NJIT’s diverse university community. We strive to provide an even playing field for amateur athletes at both a competitive and recreational skill level. Intramural sports promotes student development in an environment where sportsmanship, safety and fun take a higher priority over winning and losing.
Club Sports are recognized student organizations that emphasize a specific sport or physical activity and stress the importance of student development and leadership. Club Sports are strictly voluntary; student managed and offer activities that can be recreational, instructional or competitive in nature. Club Sport teams help bridge the gap between intramural sports and varsity athletics allowing participants to enjoy extramural competition without the pressures of highly structured varsity sports. Clubs are student directed, with members required to assume responsibility for organizing contests and fundraising activities, and can be a great opportunity to develop leadership skills. Most club teams compete in leagues against other local and regional teams and some even compete nationally.
