The graduate certificate in the Foundations of Cybersecurity provides a strong foundation and detailed technical knowledge in security, privacy, and cryptography applied to computer systems, networks, and web applications.
Students in the Foundations of Cybersecurity Graduate Certificate Program will learn how to use in-depth knowledge of network-based and system-level attacks and appropriate countermeasures to ensure that the software and the infrastructure is designed and implemented with the best security practices in mind. Graduates will learn a wide range of leadership and management skills in addition to the following skills:
- Design and build secure infrastructure for managing data and communication both in the cloud and on local servers.
- Provide expert insight on security standards and protocols in large-scale software development or data analytics projects.
- Play a key role in performing ad-hoc analyses of data stored in corporate or government databases and propose solutions to potential vulnerabilities.
- Serve as a network administrator, using penetration testing and other ethical hacking techniques to harden the system against attack.
