They operate in teams, integrating knowledge derived from several scientific disciplines to create innovative solutions that protect the environment and public health. They have an aptitude for scientific exploration, precision measurement and design of technological systems. Environmental scientists are also skilled planners in matters of policy in government and industry and maintain a high level of awareness of the societal implications of their work.
