Industrial Engineers must have a strong desire for organization and efficiency, a continuous drive for improvement and learning, and an ability to adapt to many environments, wear many hats and interact with a diverse group of individuals. They should possess excellent communication, listening, quantitative, leadership, negotiation and time-management skills as well. It also helps if you are resourceful and inquisitive and have good common sense. A mechanical aptitude and technical competency, along with patience and diplomacy, also are key to finding success as an industrial engineer.
