Program Details
The mission of the MS in Power and Energy Systems is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge needed for careers in power and energy sectors. The program will train students in power and energy systems engineering that is especially relevant to the global energy landscape transitioning towards a zero-emission economy.
- Program graduates will apply fundamental knowledge of power and energy systems to problems of power system design, protection, simulation, and operations commonly encountered in the power and energy industry.

What You Will Learn:
- Students will be able to design, analyze, and optimize power generation and distribution systems to meet grid and user specifications and requirements.
- Students will be able to design, implement, and manage robust protection schemes for power and energy systems to ensure the safety and reliability of electrical infrastructure in diverse operational conditions.
- Students will be able to incorporate power electronics devices into the design, control, and optimization of power conversion, distribution, and energy management in various energy-related systems.
- Students will be able to integrate renewable and conventional energy technologies to meet the demands of a sustainable and reliable energy infrastructure.
- Students will be able to apply the theories and techniques of clean energy to evaluate the environmental impacts and sustainability of power and energy systems.
- Students will be able to apply advanced engineering and management techniques to real-world power and energy system challenges and foster innovation and best practices within the industry.
- Students will learn from industrial engineers at power and energy facilities to advance their professional vision and apply the knowledge to real-world problems.
