If you’re an incoming first-year student, you may have the opportunity to receive college credits toward your NJIT degree before you even start classes. Below you will find information on transfer credit for Advanced Placement (AP), Seal of Biliteracy, International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Level (A-levels), College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), and college-level courses you may have completed during your time in high school.

Advanced Placement
The College Board Advanced Placement (AP) program allows students to earn college credit while in high school. To receive college credit, request that your official AP exam scores be sent electronically to NJIT, using school code 2513. Please contact the Office of University Admissions (admissions@njit.edu) for more information.
College credit may be received toward your degree for the following examinations and corresponding scores. Note: if the AP examination you took is not listed below, we currently do not accept it as transfer credit.

Seal of Biliteracy
Students who are awarded the Seal of Biliteracy by the Department of Education are eligible to receive transfer credit (one 3-credit Free Elective) for the following languages: Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, and Spanish.
International Baccalaureate
Students who are taking IB classes may request the IB to send your official IB exam scores to NJIT electronically.

Advanced Level (A-Level) Credits
NJIT awards transfer credit for Advanced Level (A-Level) examinations administered by Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel. Credit is awarded for grades of C or higher.
Submit your results by uploading them with your application or emailing them to the NJIT Office of University Admissions (admissions@njit.edu). If you are waiting on results from the most recent series, you may submit a provisional statement of results (showing your full name, date of birth, centre number, candidate number, and examination series and year) issued by your school. NJIT verifies all A-Level results with the awarding body, so a provisional statement is sufficient to begin the process.
Credit for the subjects listed below is awarded once your results are verified, and no syllabi are required. For subjects that are not listed, email transfer@njit.edu with the syllabi for the courses you are seeking credit for. Those are reviewed on a case-by-case by the academic department responsible for the subject. Submitting a syllabus does not guarantee that credit will be awarded or that a specific course equivalency will be assigned.

Credit for College-Level Courses
In order to receive credit for any college-level courses taken during high school, students must request that an official transcript be sent electronically to NJIT Office of University Admissions (admissions@njit.edu) for review. If your courses meet the following criteria, the appropriate academic department will determine whether or not credit will be awarded.
- Students must earn a grade of C or better to be considered for credit.
- Course content is also used to determine a course's equivalency to an NJIT course.
- Students must request that an official transcript be sent from each college where a course was completed. Courses are evaluated upon submission and approved by the NJIT academic department.
