St. Michael’s Primary Health and Specialty Care Center is located on the first floor of St. Michael’s Medical Center, Address: 111 Central Ave. Newark, NJ. 07102
There are university police patrolling the campus on feet and in cars, there are also crosswalks.
St. Michael’s Medical Center is approximately five minutes from the campus.
Hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
St. Michaels clinic is a walk-in clinic and therefore appointments are not taken.
Depending on the nature of the illness you will be seen by the Nurse Practitioner, Medical Doctor or directed to the Emergency Room for treatment.
Only currently enrolled NJIT students will be able to receive medical service.
Students who become ill or injured after Student Health Services close can go to St. Michael’s Emergency Room. Call 911 if emergency assistance is needed.
Students are to the Dean of Students Office. The Dean of Students Office will notify your professors once documentation of illness is provided by the student.
We take your confidentiality very seriously. We will not disclose any information about your medical concern including the fact that you have come to Student Health Services to anyone without your permission.
If a student is over 18 years of age, it is his or her legal right to first provide consent in order for a parent to be notified of an illness or injury. Young adults are also legally responsible for making their own healthcare decisions. In an emergency case, parents will be notified, as next of kin, by either the University, University Police, or St. Michael’s Medical Center.
Yes, your parent must fill out the consent form (download the consent form from the Student Health services Website and submit it by fax: 973-388-2173 or email: healthservice@njit.edu along with a state photo ID. The form is located on the Health Services website.
Only one parent will be able to accompany the student due to Covid 19 precautions.
Masks Are Required When Visiting Student Health Services!
Students who visit the St. Michael's Clinic are required to wear a well-fitting mask.
If you need immediate medical attention please contact Public Safety by dialing 911 so you can be taken to St. Michael’s Emergency Room.
Yes. Please call Student Health Services to schedule an appointment. Allergy forms are provided online. Please download under consent forms on the Student Health Services Website.
If a reaction should occur the student will be escorted to the emergency room of St. Michael’s Hospital. Please note that the allergy form provides in detail the procedure to follow when given an allergy shot.

No. St. Michael’s does not provide the HPV vaccine.
Please call your insurance company to verify if a Planned Parenthood clinic or the nearest physicians office will be covered under your insurance plan. If you need assistance, please contact Student Health services for help finding a provider.

Student Health Services does not provide Travel immunizations. Please contact the nearest Passport Health by logging onto https://www.passporthealthusa.com

Send Student Health Services an email request at: healthservices@njit.edu. We will need your full name, I.D. number (8 digit), year graduated and where you want us to email or fax your records to, and the type of records you are requesting.
COVID-19 is a respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. According to the CDC, coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in people and many different species of animals, including camels, cattle, cats, and bats.
COVID-19 causes a respiratory illness. Symptoms may include fever, cough and shortness of breath, runny nose, headache and sore throat. In severe cases, the virus can cause pneumonia. There is no vaccine or treatment currently available for this or other coronaviruses.
All full-time graduate students (9 credits or more) and full-time undergraduate students (12 credits or more) are automatically enrolled into the Aetna Insurance Plan once a year. Students enrolling for the fall semester will be charged from August 21st until August 20th of the following year. Students enrolling for the spring semester will be charged from January 16th until August 20th.
Co-pays or any form of payment will not be collected at the Student Health Services. All services rendered will be charged to your health insurance card Aetna or personal.
