Key Areas of Responsibility
Faculty Lifecycle & Career Advancement
We manage and support the complete faculty lifecycle to ensure a seamless experience from recruitment to retirement. This includes overseeing:
Recruitment & Onboarding: Welcoming and integrating new faculty into the NJIT community.
Evaluations & Reviews: Structuring annual evaluations and overseeing the workflow, timelines, and processes for department, college, and university-level candidate reviews.
Promotion & Tenure: Maintaining oversight of promotion and tenure committees and developing clear processes for promotional materials.
Career Transitions: Facilitating sabbaticals and processing emeritus status.
Faculty Development & Leadership Training
We provide the foundational tools and training necessary for continuous professional advancement:
Foundational Workshops: Delivering evidence-based workshops and teaching practical skills for career growth.
Compliance Training: Hosting campus workshops and leadership training to help departments and colleges comply with university requirements, conflict of interest policies, and mandatory training.
Our office serves as a central hub for faculty guidelines, advocacy, and celebration:
Policy Development: Creating and coordinating comprehensive faculty policies, including mentoring programs, conflict resolution, and grievance processes.
Achievement & Recognition: Supporting the processes for special designations, including Distinguished Professors, Professors Emeriti, and Endowed Chairs.
University Collaboration: Partnering closely with the Faculty Senate, the PSA, Human Resources, and other NJIT offices to champion faculty needs and foster a supportive campus culture.
