BlackBoard Ally helps increase the accessibility of course content, builds a more inclusive learning environment and improves the student experience. This session will cover how to use Ally as well as some tips to help make course material more accessible.

Quality Assurance in eLearning Rubric: How the QA Rubric Can Improve Any Course

This workshop will provide an overview of quality standards as established in NJIT's QA rubric, share guidance for reading and interpreting the rubric, as well as showcasing those standards "in action" with demos from courses developed according to the standards. While the rubric was created to ensure uniform quality across all online courses, the standards are applicable best-practice for any mode of instruction.

Using this recent Chronicle article as a jumping off point, this session will discuss ways to preemptively address the pervasive problem of student disengagement acutely experienced last year. You will leave the workshop with concrete strategies for mitigating learning-loss from the pandemic and increasing/encouraging student participation.
