The 2020 Summer Academic Enrichment Program will begin on Monday, July 6th and ends on Thursday, July 30th. As a condition of your Admissions to New Jersey Institute of Technology, all EOP students must attend the free Virtual Summer Academic Enrichment Program. The summer program is an intensive academic program that will aid in the transition from high school to college. The program this summer is a four week program designed to identify and strengthen areas of academic and to orient them to NJIT. The four week program will include participation in academic support efforts, such as, tutoring, creating an academic plan, interpersonal skills-building activities, workshops, educational enrichment, and career exploration. At the end of the Virtual Summer Academic Enrichment Program, students register for the fall. EOP will provide all educational material for a student to have successful summer program.
Yes. The Virtual Summer Academic Enrichment Program is mandatory for all admitted EOP students. Students who do not attend the Summer Academic Enrichment Program may not be eligible to attend the New Jersey Institute of Technology through regular admissions. Matriculation into the fall semester is contingent upon successful completion of the summer program.
You must be admitted to the New Jersey Institute of Technology through the Educational Opportunity Program. As an admitted student, you must confirm your attendance to EOP at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Additionally, you must complete EOP Summer Program Information Packet.
Due to the pandemic, the 2020 Summer Academic Enrichment Program is totally virtual this year. No staff or students will be allowed to stay on campus.
Students will be taking classes appropriate to their level of preparation, based on their placement test results. You will be enrolled in a math, physics, chemistry, study skills and architecture/design (based upon major). All classes will be conducted through a virtual platform. During orientation, students will receive information on all course work.
Yes, New Student Orientation will be conducted on a virtual platform. Please look for emails from NSO on how to participate.
Yes, the first day of the program, students and parents participate in an orientation program presented by the EOP staff, instructional staff, current EOP students, and EOP Alumni. The agenda includes information on the program, parents’ meetings, and student meetings with upperclassmen, financial aid workshops. Additionally, general information about the Summer Program is reviewed by the staff and the residential staff gives final directions.
