Wellness Groups - Check out these developing wellness groups for faculty and staff. Participation is voluntary and free of charge.
- Weightlifting Group - (check the link for current times - email yg434@njit.edu for information) This group gets together to exercise using weights like dumbbells, barbells and cable machines available at the WEC 2nd floor gym. You can bring your own workout or follow along with someone else. There is no instructor or person responsible for safety. This is simply a group for people that like to exercise to find each other, share ideas and encourage each other to try new things, safely.
- Kickboxing Group - Meets on Thursdays at 3:30pm in the Racquetball room at the 2nd floor of the WEC. Led by an experienced coach and staff member, this is a step into a useful and intense martial art!

What It Is: Peer Wellness Coaching is a confidential service for NJIT faculty and staff, offering personalized support to enhance your optimal well-being. We empower you to set goals, make decisions, and take action toward achieving a satisfying work/life balance. It is a gentle, supportive approach focused on long-term lifestyle adjustment.
Your Coach: Coaching is provided by our in-house Wellness Coach and Program Coordinator, Youthser Guerrero.
How It Works: Your wellness journey begins with a comfortable, confidential conversation. Youthser will meet you exactly "where you are" and gently guide you as you refocus and work toward your specific personal wellness goals.

NJIT has partnered with BetterYou to bring you a non-intrusive mobile app to help you stick to your health goals!

We will create wellness challenges to diversify our communities activities and those can be found through BetterYou when you use our NJIT-specific sign up link. Through the app, you can invite other colleagues to join in the fun, let's motivate each other to be healthier!
NJIT Faculty and staff interested in participating in wellness coaching will meet with our program coordinator, Youthser ("yo-sir") Guerrero most recently supported healthcare professionals during the Covid19 pandemic and has prior years of experience promoting health and wellness across diverse demographics in various settings. He received a Masters in Exercise Science from Montclair State University.
Youthser promotes his own wellness by listening to music, moving, cooking, practicing mindfulness and learning. He is lovingly supported by his wife Carolyn and daughters Elise and Charlotte. Youthser believes in ongoing learning, practicing compassion towards self and others and inserting fun into life as much as possible.
