All students, employees, third parties, and guests have a right to an educational and working environment free from discrimination, harassment and retaliation.
Any member of the University community who believes that they have been subject to discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation (prohibited conduct), or who has witnessed others being subjected to prohibited conduct is encouraged to submit a report immediately after the conduct or as soon as possible by completing an online report (see reporting forms below) or directly to:

Reporting Forms
Discrimination and/or Discriminatory Harassment Reporting Form
Discrimination occurs when an individual suffers an adverse employment decision/ and or action based on an individual's protected status.
Discriminatory Harassment is unwelcome conduct that is based on an individual's protected status and where: 1) enduring the offensive conduct becomes a condition of continued employment or academic standing; or 2) the conduct is severe or pervasive enough to create a work or educational environment that a reasonable person would consider intimidating, hostile, or abusive.

Title IX and Sexual Misconduct Reporting Form
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities operated by an institution receiving federal financial assistance. Title IX, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (NJLAD), and NJIT policies prohibit:
- Sexual assault
- Sexual harassment
- Sexual exploitation
- Dating and domestic violence
- Stalking
- Retaliation

Bias Incident Reporting Form
An incident(s) of bias occurs when an individual subjects another to discrimination, harassment, abuse, bullying, stereotyping, marginalization, or any other form of mistreatment because they identify or are associated with a particular group. Bias acts can be verbal, written, physical, or psychological behaviors committed on the basis of actual or perceived race, religion, color, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, disability, marital status, civil union or, domestic partnership status, atypical heredity, cellular blood trait, or veteran status.
If you wish to report an incident(s) of bias, please complete the Bias Incident Reporting Form or contact the Assistant Vice President of Institutional Access directly at 973-596-3446 or by email at institutional-access@njit.edu. You can also contact the Office of the Dean of Students at 973-596-3466 or by email at dos@njit.edu for concerns involving students.
Accommodations Appeal Form
Students, employees, and applicants may use the Appeal Process to request review of a disability-related accommodation determination or to raise unresolved concerns regarding equal access. An individual seeking review should submit a written appeal to the ADA/504 Coordinator (Coordinator) within ten (10) business days from the date of the accommodation determination or complete the online Accommodations Appeal Form.

- Criminal reporting options can be discussed with NJIT Police, or your local police department based on incident location.
- Students and employees can file a complaint of discrimination with the Office of Civil Rights
Employee Options:
- General inquiries or concerns related to employee conduct can be submitted through Highlander Nexus.
- Employees can file a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Visit the EEOC website for additional information.
