As you may have read, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka has instituted a 10-day, city-wide lockdown beginning Wednesday, November 25, to help curb the spread of COVID-19. NJIT will remain open and operational during this 10-day lockdown period. Based on more detailed information from the City of Newark, NJIT will implement the following protocols in support of the lockdown:
The transition to remote only instruction will occur on Wednesday, November 25.
The Van Houten Library will provide virtual services only.
Resident students will be permitted to remain in their assigned rooms.
Food service will be provided for resident students that remain on campus.
All administrative offices will transition to telework from Wednesday, November 25 through Friday, December 4.
Essential personnel, as determined by the area vice president, will report to work for their regular scheduled shift.
Further communication will be provided to the community as we approach the scheduled end of the lockdown on Friday, December 4. Please continue to stay safe, wear your face covering, social distance, and practice good hand hygiene.
