Expansion of the Medicat Health Services Patient Portal System
April 22, 2021
Dear NJIT Community Members,
As of April 19, everyone 16 years of age and above that lives, works, and learns in New Jersey is eligible to be vaccinated for COVID-19. This is an encouraging development on our path toward normalcy. If you have not done so already, please register with the New Jersey vaccination scheduling system or schedule your vaccination with the provider of your choice.
We encourage those who may have questions about COVID vaccines to seek answers from reliable sources. To learn more about the vaccine approval process, click here or here. As mentioned in the April 12, 2021 Return to Campus Phasing Plan announcement, NJIT has expanded the Medicat Health Services Patient Portal system, currently used by students, for the use of employees. Students and employees are encouraged, once you have completed your full vaccination, to provide vaccination information by completing the following steps:
Students and employees should upload a copy of their vaccination card into Medicat, a secure and HIPAA-compliant system by:
Clicking on the drop down menu next to the blank box and choosing ‘Covid Vaccine Record’
Click on ‘Select File’
Uploading the vaccination card picture or a PDF file of the card
Once the above steps are completed, NJIT’s director of campus health services will verify the submission.
Getting vaccinated, in addition to the other components of our Pandemic Recovery Plan, including but not limited to mandatory face coverings and social distancing will continue our safe, phased return to campus. As always, the three pillars of our Pandemic Recovery Plan--adherence to governmental mandates, reliance on guidance of health experts and agencies, and our own collective informed judgement--will continue to guide our successful recovery from this pandemic.
Sincerely,
Andrew P. Christ, PE
