Safe Zone is designed to educate individuals on how to be allies of those who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ campus community
Safe Zone Trainings are designed to break down stereotypes, create a space for open discussion, and educate individuals on how to be an ally for the LGBTQIA+ campus community. Whether you are just beginning or ready to take that step to further your understanding this program will help you get there. Safe Zone Trainings will help provide you information and resources related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
Safe Zone Trainees will develop:
An increased knowledge of language and concepts regarding the LGBTQIA+ community
A better understanding of resources and services on campus that support LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies
An understanding of personal ideas, stereotypes, and assumptions related to the LGBTQIA+ community
A network of allies and community members to support people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions on campus
