Bus Parking

Bus parking on campus is very limited.  Please consider the following options:

Buses should be encouraged to drop off occupants, leave campus and then return to campus for pick up.  Most bus drivers expect this type of situation…

A visitor parking request should be entered by the hosting department at https://myhub.njit.edu/VisitorParking/visitorparking in order to coordinate bus drop off and pick up locations with Public Safety.

Typical bus drop off and pickup locations are:

186 Bleeker Street (between ME and the green)

50 Colden Street (between Laurel Hall and Honors)

WEC loading areas are on Warren and Lock Streets.  Note that these loading areas are intended for athletic team and WEC event use and can only accommodate one bus at a time.  GPS addresses for these locations are:  173 Warren Street & 100 Lock Street. 

If busses MUST park on campus, please indicate such in your visitor parking request at https://myhub.njit.edu/VisitorParking/visitorparking.  If properly coordinated, limited bus parking may be available at:

50 Colden Street. Public Safety must block this area prior to the event.  The street can accommodate 5 to 6 buses when completely clear of all cars.  Cars that are already parked legally on Colden Street cannot be ticketed or towed.
No other lots or streets are available for bus parking unless coordinated with the city of Newark:

Street parking on Warren Street, Lock Street, & Dr MLK Blvd is Newark metered parking and requires approval from the Newark Parking Authority to use. This must be submitted by the requesting department directly to the Newark Parking Authority as soon as the event is scheduled and confirmed to allow time for the approval process.  The contact info is:

Street Metered spaces typically cost $25 a day and must be coned off & staffed/controlled.
