About the Series
Meet the Mayor is a monthly series at NJIT that brings local municipal leaders to campus for open discussions on governance, leadership, and community development. The series fosters direct dialogue between students, faculty, and policymakers, offering insight into local government and civic engagement.
Mayor Dwayne D. Warren
The inaugural session of Meet the Mayor, a signature initiative by NJIT’s Office of Public and Community Affairs, launched on February 27, 2025, featuring Mayor Dwayne D. Warren of Orange City Township. Fourteen students nominated from NJIT’s six colleges participated in an intimate fireside chat, discussing topics such as urban development, economic growth, community engagement, and public leadership. Each student posed a direct question, followed by one-on-one conversations with the mayor.
