Special Deliveries

Special deliveries to departments at NJIT should be coordinated thru the NJIT mailroom.  Please contact the mailroom at x3191 to make those arrangements.

Packages

Special arrangements may need to be made for certain types of deliveries.  These deliveries could include:

  • Large items
  • Items that are very heavy
  • Items that come on pallets or skids
  • Items that need special handling (fragile, unique)
  • Items that need to use a loading dock or a lift

Please contact the mailroom at x3191 in advance of the delivery in order to make special arrangements.  In these situations, we will need to have a contact name and phone # and delivery date (if possible) so that we can make delivery arrangements to your department.  If the mailroom is not notified in advance, the shipment may be refused because of lack of storage space within the mailroom.  We may also need to coordinate with the NJIT Facilities Services department or the NJIT Environmental Health and Safety department.
