Safe distance procedure for mailroom visitor and staff:
COVID-19 PROCEDURES
A folding table has been placed at the entrance to the mailroom with a plastic shield on it. Signs have been placed on the table that read "ATTENTION DO NOT ENTER MAILROOM. PLEASE WAIT FOR A STAFF MEMBER TO ASSIST YOU".
A marking has been placed on the mailroom floor, six feet from the folding table at the entrance that reads "SIX FOOT LINE".
We are asking the mailroom staff to maintain a six foot distance when dealing with anyone who comes to the mailroom.
If a person is picking up mail or packages, we may ask them to go upstairs while we get their items ready. Alternatively, we may ask them to step back to maintain the six foot distance while we place their items on the table.
It is always best to call the mailroom at x3191 in advance of coming to the mailroom so that our staff can get your items ready for pickup.
When the mailroom receives UPS, FedEx, DHL or USPS packages we will maintain the six foot distance from the drivers. The drivers will sign our names on their scanners so that we do not touch their scanners.
When mailroom personnel deliver the packages to the NJIT departments, we will fill in the recipient's name in the signature block on our scanners so that recipients do not handle our mailroom scanners.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation during these unusual times.
